Many women use caffeine so they are more “productive”, do not drink enough water, eat healthy foods, or even take time to go to the bathroom. Presenter: Jessica Cinco
1:30 to 3:00 p.m., Zoom

Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication (NVC) framework offers an actionable process for listening and offering empathy that deepens relationships by using presence, nonjudgement, and curiosity. In this workshop, participants will learn about components and modes Dr. Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication (NVC, sometimes called Compassionate Communication) framework. Then, the presenter will share which behaviors block empathic listening and which deepen empathic listening. Participants will have opportunities to practice non-empathic and empathic listening in breakout room. By the end of the session, participants be able to identify and use the Nonviolent Communication technique of empathic listening to use in their workplaces as well as in their personal lives.

Further, many students arrive without beds, furniture, or cookware and most do not receive a paycheck until a week or two after the semester begins.
Learn more about the School of Sustainability’s initiative, WEEK1, which aims to onboard new international graduate students.
